About Purple Titanic
Hey, I'm Ari. I'm a Boston-based organizer and writer, currently living with my partner Danny in Hamburg for six months. Six extraordinarily consequential months in both the U.S. and Germany.
Purple Titanic is a place for what I call "anti-hot takes": making sense of the world through words—mine and yours, if you choose to join me. It's a place for not having answers but trying to find them anyway; for anxiety and fear, but also hope and grounding. With clear eyes, a little bit of humor, and a sprinkling of Titanic history.
I've had an obsession (or, as I say in polite company, a "fascination") with the Titanic since the third grade. I'm Jewish. I'm American. I'm gay. I'm a grassroots organizer and social change strategist by profession, and I challenge corporate abuse for a living. I like to stay curious. All of these things shape how and what I write.
Subscribe today, and you'll have full access to the website, get new posts via email, and keep Purple Titanic afloat. Even better: join me in conversation in the comments. What resonates? What founders? What do I get right? What am I missing?
